Growing up on a farm near Corsica, SD, Robbie Veurink enjoyed working construction, particularly large building projects. He completed his M.S. and B.S. at in Civil Engineering at South Dakota State University with an emphasis on structural engineering. Robbie began his engineering career with the City of Sioux Falls, doing project management. With extensive construction and engineering experience, Robbie quickly became a valuable resource for the City and was heavily utilized for large projects such as the Denny Sanford Premier Center and the Spellerberg Aquatic Center.

Having experience in construction, engineering, and public service, the idea for Midwest Engineering Company was formulated with his business partner Brent Krohn. Midwest Engineering Company brings together the principles of engineering, construction, and clientele-based services all together to offer value, hard work, and trust to its clients.

In his free time, Robbie enjoys deer and elk hunting, spending time with friends and family and traveling to the Black Hills. Robbie currently resides in Sioux Falls, SD, with his wife Ashley.


Brent Krohn – Mankato, MN

Brent Krohn developed an interest in the design and construction field while growing up on his family’s farm in Nicollett, MN. Brent obtained a B.S. in civil engineering with a structural emphasis at South Dakota State University. Summers during college years were spent surveying and performing civil construction inspection for I & S Group, a full-service architectural and engineer firm in Mankato, MN.

Summer internships transitioned into full time employment where Brent gained structural design experience working on apartment buildings, municipal facilities, multi-story office buildings, schools, fire stations, healthcare facilities, ag buildings, grain bins, renovations and more. Brent’s experience in engineering design and construction prompted him to form Midwest Engineering with his business partner Robbie Veurink.

In Brent’s free time he enjoys hobby farming, spending time with family and friends and visiting local breweries. He currently resides in Nicollet, Minnesota.
